Tide of Humanity

     When will the brutality end? The careless violence? Systematic oppression, systematic destruction.  Beautiful black bodies, falling in the streets at the hands of supposed protectors. When will it end, this disgusting genocide? When will I be able to face the news, without crying in painful mourning for brothers-and-sisters-in-humanity?  With this, my voice, I say rise all who cannot stand this violence. Rise as a fiery tidal wave against Blue Hate. I speak not to those who feel these losses the most, those who see their own bodies in that of the fallen, the victims of cruel institution; but those who have crafted it, actively or passively. Rise.  Do not let another black body, another body of color, hit the pavement, do not let another marginalized human being's life fall. The duty of justice is not upon those who bear injustice, but upon those who cannot stand the machinations of death, hate, and injustice. Rise, carry the cause of righteous justice.  Do not be a passive stone in the pavement on which these precious bodies fall, but an active drop in the just wave. Ripples upon ripples, may this system of vile destruction end. Rise, with those ripples which have already begun, you will not be alone in your righteous outrage. Rise, it is you who have the power, not the empty shells which pull triggers aimed at their own hate, insecurities, and biases; which in fear and anger veer around their target and instead impact innocents blamed for imagined ills.

Rise.
This cruel and monstrous system. Cannot. Stand.

Rise.
For children lost. Targeted.

Rise.
For fathers fallen. Targeted.

Rise.
For sisters torn away. Targeted.

Rise.
For brothers brought down. Targeted.

Rise.
For mothers in mourning. Targeted.

Rise.
As a tidal wave larger than than the uncaring system which orchestrates targets.

Rise.
You are not targeted. You outnumber their hateful bullets.

Rise.
This system of death, cannot stand.
