Hello!

My Photographic Philosophy

A Brief Introduction

My name is Ciara O'Mahony, trans woman and proud.

I began my passion of photography roughly seven years ago.  As soon as I picked up my first camera, a dinky little point-and-shoot, I immediately fell into a deep love of capturing the seen, yet unnoticed.  You see, every image captures a unique emotion unnoticed through the trappings of an ever moving existence, and the competing senses of smell, hearing, touch, and taste.  By capturing a singular instant, we photographers capture a complex set of feelings and emotions. unfettered and without distraction.  Personally, I view the universe from not a participatory perspective, but one more than that of an observer.  I do not care much for altering, or setting up a shot if you will, that which is already beautiful.  It is the small things that make life a wondrous journey, yet it is the small things that go most unnoticed.  I wish to shine a spotlight on perspectives and objects that one could easily overlook, for it is there that true beauty may be found.  Someday, I may expand my repertoire to those people who are most often forgotten, overlooked, and unseen by society and those within.  However, in this stage of my journey into the magical realm of photography, I mostly capture still life and landscape.  In my journey, my wanderings, I keep both my eyes and my heart open to what the universe has to offer as luminous gifts to my camera.  It will be with this blog that I share these gifts, and I hope you, dear reader, will enjoy them as much as I.

If you enjoy them enough to desire prints, please contact me via email at ciaraohh9@gmail.com, where we can work out the details of a transaction, such as pricing, payment, delivery and such.

Now, without further ado, I implore you, won't you join me on my journey? My whirlwind of discovery of that which shines?

With much excitement, I am grateful to say...

Our journey together, is about to begin. May it be full of grandeur and a fruitful one!
